I LOVE Turkish Delight and keep being bought
the little bars as presents, which is all well and good but I have to stash
them as they’re so high in syns so I decided to make my own!
These are 3.5 syns for all, and I make
about 30 sweets
Ingredients
1 sachet sugar free raspberry jelly (1.5 syns)
Rose water flavoring (baking aisle of most
supermarkets)
2 sachets gelatin
1 sachet cadburys highlights (2 syns)
Couple of drops cocoa flavouring (baking
aisle of most supermarkets but this is optional)
Method
Put 150ml boiling water into a bowl, add
jelly and 1 sachet of gelatin and three or four drops of rose water
essence. I use a balloon whisk to mix as
it makes sure any lumps are quickly and easily broken down
Pour mixture into ice cube trays, filling
each well up about half way and put in fridge to partially set which will take
about 15 minutes
In a clean bowl mix 150ml boiling water
with your chocolate sachet, second gelatin sachet and cocoa flavouring (if
using)
Pour the chocolate mixture on top of the jelly,
topping up the ice cube wells and leave to set
Should be ready in about 45 minutes
Keeps 2-3 days in an airtight box in the fridge
– if they last that long!!
