Ingredients:
Sandwich Thins (This is a Kingsmill Wholemeal and one is
your HEB) (5 syns per thin)
Passata
Italian herbs
Cheese (your choice from your HEA allowance or syn it)
Other toppings – you can have whatecer you like but I used:
Sausage (you’ll use about 1 sausage per thin or ½ per ‘slice’- I used porky lights at 1/2 a syn per sausage)
Bacon – trim off all the fat
Red onion
Italian herbs
Frylite
Method:
Take the sausages out of their casings and form into small
balls, you’ll get about three per sausage
Spray your frying pan with fryite and fry the sasage balls
until golden brown and cooked through, you can add Italian herbs to the pan
also for extra flavor
When the sausage balls are cooked put them to one side and
keep warm
Next cut the bacon into bite size pieces and fry until
cooked, put in the same warm dish as the sausage balls
Now fry your red onions, give them a good spray with frylite
and cook until golden – add to the warm dish with the bacon and sausage
Grate your cheese and set to the side
Cut your thins in half and toast on both sides
When lightly golden, spread passata on the ‘inside’. Not too much, enough to taste and slightly
soften the thin but not enough to make them soggy. Just a thin layer will be perfect
Now add whatever toppings in whatever quantities you
like.
Sprinkle with cheese and add some more passata and a light
dusting of Italian herbs
Put under a medium grill and toast until golden brown
Cut into triangles and serve immediately with green salad
