Turkish Delight – 1 syn for 10!

I LOVE Turkish Delight and was missing their chocolate-y goodness the other day so I decided to make a version of my fake Haribos that would do the trick.

Slimming World friendly, low syn Turkish Delights

They’re really good, and 10 is only 1 syn so definitely much better if you’re on plan and will help with the chocolate cravings.  I often make a bowl full to nibble on when it’s movie time

If you want to try the low syn Turkish Delights my recipe is here

Enjoy!

Syn free chicken adobo

Having eaten Slimming World friendly food for years now I sometimes find myself in a totally boring cycle of the same stuff, so when I found this Asian inspired meal with a combination of flavours I’ve never tried I adjusted it to be SW friendly and gave it a go.

The result was a deeply flavourful, easy to make slower cooker meal which comes in at one syn for all.  That’s in the optional teaspoon of honey in the sauce so, as I did not eat all 12 pieces and all the sauce I discounted and went with syn free as it would be 1 syn for all the sauce and none for the chicken…negligible

I’d really recommend giving it a try.  No marinating and something different for dinner.

Obviously SW suggest you have speed food with every meal and this contains one.  If you would like to add a side of stir fried veggies that would be perfect, in this instance I was true to the original dish and went without.

Greek Inspired Dinner

My parents recently came over for a visit which is always great as it challenges me to put together something a little different for our meal.

Same issues as most of us have, everyone has different tastes and requirements; I eat Slimming World friendly food, my Mum is a vegetarian (who occasionally has a bacon butty and chicken!!) and Dad loves lamb but doesn’t have it at home as Mum hates the smell.

Challenge accepted!
Slimming World friendly Greek inspired meal
Ignore the fact that this is all shoved on the side in the kitchen, the weather was beautiful and we had a party outside in the garden but for my Greek inspired dinner I served these dishes, links to the recipes are added in case you want to try anything:

Shop bought low fat hummous
Halloumi fries

Chicken skewers (no they are not Greek, but I added oregano and lemon and winged it!!!)
Needless to say, it was all really well received and we all enjoyed different parts of the dinner.

More than anything I just want to share that you can have beautiful food that tastes great as well as caters for all different food requirements whist still eating healthily

Enjoy!

Pork & Sundried Tomato Meatballs

Saw these at Tesco the other day, they’re a Weight Watchers pre-made meal.  I don’t eat pre-packaged food but I thought they sounded interesting so I made them as a snack.

It’s 1 syn for all 12 meatballs which I’m pretty happy with (that's for the sundried tomatoes).

They’d be great in a passata based sauce with extra veg, herbs and some chillis but I didn’t want to mess about doing all that, I had the nibbles, wanted something savoury and fancied giving them a try.  They’d be great as part of a tapas meal as well – they’re not dry as pork can sometimes be and the sundried tomato really gives them flavor.

Pizza on a Wrap – Syn Free

I think weight Watchers wraps have to be anyone on Slimming World’s best food friend.  I use them to make pies, pasties, sausage rolls and now pizza!

Syn free pizza on a wrap
Admittedly tuna and prawn pizza is not everyone’s idea of pizza heaven but you can do anything, whatever your favourite is just go for it.  Remember things like pepperoni have to be synned and so does your wrap and cheese if you’ve used your healthy options for the day but this is a really quick, easy and low/no syn version of my very favourite food

If you try nothing else I think you should try this pizza, the recipe is here

Cajun Chicken Soy & Honey Kebabs

I wanted to try something different this week and had decide on chicken but had no idea what to do with it.  In the end I made a concoction up using what was in the cupboard and have to say this time it was a success.

These kebabs are not spicy (although they could be!).  It was like a mellow sweet and sour without the sour, which clearly makes no sense but if you try them you’ll get what I mean.

Apart from the marinading, these are super quick to make and a really good way to have extra veggies with your meal.  I especially like peppers and onions that are blackened so for me it was a treat.
Low syn chicken, soy & honey kebabs
At 2 ½ syns for all four kebabs they’re a perfect go to for a light lunch with salad but you could just as easily serve with syn free wedges or even a spiced rice…or all of that at once!
