Ingredients:
1 packet Smash made up with water
Slimming World sausages
Egg
Method:
Make Smash up according to packet but don’t add all the water straight away, I add about half then the rest gradually. I find I only need about 2/3 of the recommended amount to make a firm ball of potato, if I add it all it’s more like wallpaper paste.
Allow the potato to cool a little then, while still warm,
put on cling film. Fold the cling film
over the potato and roll out until it looks like pastry. I went for about 3mm thickness.
Place sausage on mash pastry and use the cling film to help you roll up until the edges
overlap and cut with a knife. It looks like this:
Roll on mash 'pastry' until covered. |
Continue until all mash is used up.
Wash with beaten egg and bake at gas mark 6 (180) for about
30 minutes, or until golden brown.
My packet of Smash made four big sausage rolls.
I sliced into bite sized pieces before serving.
