New Year - Time for Soup

Now it’s the New Year I need to focus and be mindful of what I’m eating as I’ve been totally off plan for the entire Holiday season and this moring my work trousers today made sure I knew it….so back to basics with overnight oats for breakfast and soup for lunch.

I’m very picky with soup plus I refuse to waste a lot of syns on something I can make myself so yesterday I made a big old batch of syn free Chinese Style Chicken and Sweetcorn Soup to keep me going (plus I threw away the naughtty food)

Syn free Chinese style chicken and sweetcorn soup
Ok I admit it's not the same as having whatever you want from the Christmas nibbles selection but it's tasty, filling and best of all syn free!

If you also need to be able to move in your trousers and want to make soup to kickstart the year the recipe is here!

Enjoy

Low Syn Mince Pies

Didn’t want to use 13 syns on a mince pie so I had the idea to make mince pie baked oats - they come in at only 4.5 syns for 16 minis (about 1/3 syn each) when you use your HEB.  Means I can have lots more mince pies = much more Holiday cheer!

They were really good and tasted just like mince pies…

Low Syn Corned Beef Hash

I love corned beef hash, it’s always been something I didn’t think I could have and stick to plan so it may have taken a while but I think I nailed it, especially welcome at this time of year when it’s freezing cold outside.

You can make the potatoes in advance if it’s easier as that’s the most time-consuming bit, but nevertheless it’s a hearty, warm meal and perfect for a family style brunch or even to combine as leftovers with an egg mix for a delicious frittata

If you’d like to try the low syn corned beef frittata the recipe is here

Enjoy!
