Syn fre veggie egg fried rice with pork teryyaki style |
I was worried about the amount of rice I’d
need to make but my Mum told me to just fill it to about ¾ and press it down
firmly, leave it a few minutes to ‘set’ and I’d be fine. She was, of course, correct (as she always
is) and I only used three bags of rice.
It’s not difficult to do and is a real wow
way to serve what is basically an everyday meal. It’s also cheap, I used three bags of Tesco
rice and some frozen veggies. Nice to have
a go to side dish that’s inexpensive and quick.

You can put whatever you like in it, I made
pork teriyaki style (3 syns and recipe is here) but it would be amazing with a
Mayflower curry, a stir fry, any of the Chinese fakeaway and could even be
tweaked to be an Indian inspired dish – maybe I should try that next!
